Designed by paints a striking picture with its stone and glass lower level and a top level that is draped in wood. Clean straight lines and minimal aesthetics create a sense of refinement throughout the family residence with glass walls blurring the line between the interior and the garden.
A cool and ingenious ‘glass joint’ connects the old timber structure with the new extension and both buildings seem to retain their individual style and aura even while interacting with one another in a seamless manner.
Designed by Oleg Drozdov the house is broadly divided into three individual units with each one having its own series of balconies and private terraces that melt into the common social zone at the heart of it all. The central living zone flows into the semi-open terrace and pool area that overlooks the generous garden outside. This ingeniously crafted terrace allows the homeowners to enjoy ‘outdoor living’ throughout the year and allows the adults in the house to keep an eye on the kids as they spend time in the garden.
The residents of had a similar desire to turn their old terrace house that is just five meters wide into a smart modern home filled with lovely little nooks terraces and an inviting outdoor lounge. Dan Gayfer Design accomplished this by completely renovating the house connecting the interior with the small private outdoor living area.
