While the outline of the house borrows inspiration from the plot it sits on and aims to make the most of the limited space on offer on the inside it is the dramatic spiral staircase structure that demands your attention instantly.
The distribution of the apartments across the four levels was done by placing one on the first floor while two duplex apartments occupy the second and third floors. A fourth apartment is accommodated on the top level with each individual apartment having its own outdoor lounge and porch that extends the living area outside.
On the inside the picture changes dramatically with the more inviting oak ceiling and floors creating a relaxing atmosphere for the entire family while a cozy upholstered nook next to the fireplace and the large dining area create a generous social zone. A perfect contemporary hangout full of light!
Much of the original silhouette of the house was retained and given a modern upgrade with the reflecting pond a fabulous bridge and the brise soleil creating a stunning entrance. This image of tranquility is further enhanced as artificial lighting takes over after sunset with the illumination fashioning an atmosphere of inviting warmth.
Floor-to-ceiling glass windows open the living and dining area to the outdoors while the central room separates the wing with dining space kitchen kids’ bedrooms and breakfast zone from the zone that contains the master suite home gym and office.
